[COOL SHIT] H. Bloom Flower Subscription

True confessions: I used to want to be a floral designer. In fact, I had this fantasy of opening up a combo flower shop/bakery and calling it FLOUR. Laugh if you must, but I kinda still thnk it a killer idea. I mean, right? Only I realized that I would have to wake up at 3am every day, and work every weekend, and deal with annoying fucking brides. So that one went out the window.  But I loved all my floral design classes and I still love the shit outta flowers.

Which is why I think this new weekly subscription service from H. Bloom is such a rad idea.

Basically, this shit works like netflix: you sign up for whichever service works best for you and your budget (weekly or bi-weekly delivery) and flowers are delivered parisian style, in beautiful little hand-tied bundles. Drop that shizzy into a vase, and voila! You have a gorgeous new arrangement. They even provide their residential customers with a vase upon their first delivery that will work for all future deliveries.

You can pause your subscription if you go away, and HELLO: can you think of a more amazing present for someone? SOMEONE LIKE ME?????

Anyway, this is just avail in Manhattan right now, but the owners have their eye on the prize and are looking to figure out a way to do this in 1-800-FLOWERS type of service (except not totally fucking cheesy) that would be available to everyone.

<3's!

To Do:

  • Follow H. Bloom on Twitter
  • If you're not poor, sign up for their weekly subscription service (or get it as a gift for someone you dig). You can use the discount code: VITALJUICE (you're welcome).
  • If you *are* poor, at least go get your ass some flowers at the Bodega...YOU'RE WORTH IT! (eventhough H. Bloom says deli's are for sandwiches and not flowers...).
