[HANGING TOUGH] Adam Cohn's Honest Art

How does any conversation you have with an acquaintance go?

You: Hey.

Them: Hi, how's it going.

You: Good.

Them: Not so good.

You're already walking away, because you don't CARE how they're doing, you're just exchanging mindless pleasantries on your way to the liquor store, or wherever you're going.  Then you have to turn around and engage in conversation.

Adam Cohn's prints get right down to the point by declaring, "I'm not interested in what you are saying" for everyone to see.

[LINK'D] Blu Dot Wants Your Ridiculous Art Projects, Drug-Free Urine Samples

Modern furniture maker Blu Dot is hosting an online swap meet that allows you to trade your ridiculous art projects for a genuinely beautiful piece of their furniture.

How does it work?  You pick out any Blu Dot item you want, and then upload an interesting offer to the site (it can be a collection, art project, or something completely and totally ridiculous).  Users will vote on whether your upload is "swap-worthy" and at the end of the voting period, good golly, Bert, you might win an awesome piece of furniture in exchange from your bottle cap collection!

I'm thinking this is a pretty brilliant idea, but the best part of all of this is to see WTF people are trying to swap in exchange for legit nice furniture.

[COOL SHIT] Chapatti Rolling Pins

Apparently, rolling pins were historically gifted to Indian women as part of their wedding dowries.

As in, "Thanks for the rolling pin, Tushar, I'm so excited about our upcoming wedding and I guess I should make some unlevened bread now?"

CB2's Chapatti Rolling Pins ($69.95) are "one of a find," meaning that they've only got about 300 units for sale before they're gone forever.

Get on it, they're cool.

To find out more about rolling pins (or not about rolling pins at all), follow me on Twitter @amandawaas

[DESIGN WTF] CB2's "Mouse Pet"

So you live in New York City, which is the equivalent of paying millions of dollars to live on top of a trash pile.

You see rats every day scurrying aorund on the subway tracks and you may or may not see a mouse hanging out in your dishrack when you're just trying to eat your breakfast before you go to work.

So, that's why I don't understand why ANYONE would ever buy this stupid "Mouse Pet" from CB2 ($79.95).

Like, hey guys, if you want to pay me $80, I can give you the real thing.  Call me.

More ridiculous photos after the jump.

[HANGING TOUGH] Crate & Barrel's "Vein of Truth" Print

Got the new Crate & Barrel Spring catalog the other day and as usual, it was a major snoozefest.

The only thing in there worth noting was Allison Wickey's "Vein of Truth" print.

For $449, it ain't cheap but it's kind of pretty, right?
