THEY'RE BAAAAACK!: DESIGN STAR PREMIERES JULY 11TH

GAME. SET. MATCH.

Sidenote: whoever thought of this idea srsly deserves a raise.

Anyway, Design Star is back on July 11th! Yay!

So yes that photo is real and yes David Bromstad actually emailed it to me (or at least someone pretending to be David Bromstad).

Details are slowly emerging about this upcoming season, and it seems like it's gonna be pretty damn good! I mean, maybe!

You can even go check out the bios on everyone and see some pics of their work (SPOILER ALERT: every pic I saw kinda sucked, but judge for yourself) and best of all, DBrom is going to be back this season to serve as a mentor to all the new kids. They're also having a slew of guest celeb judges (Thom Filicia, Cortney and Robert Novogratz, Nate Berkus, etc) and though it's gonna be pretty darn hard for anyone to win me over as hard as Emily Henderson did, I'm kinda excited to get this Design Star party started again.

I don't have much to say about this group yet, as it's hard to really get to know them from just their bios. There's some chick named Blanche who's not 78, so there's that. Also, there's some hipster dude from Brooklyn, whose obvs my sight unseen fave cause I'm from Brooklyn and his headshot is all smirky and douchey and he doesn't even care.

With a few exceptions, most of the contenstants seem to have portfolios like this:

This is not a photo that came up when I did a google image search for "horrendous design"--THIS IS A PHOTO FROM SOMEONE'S REAL PORTFOLIO.

And yet, Vern Yip (who along with Candice Olson and Genevieve Gorder, who are also back as judges) said about this season: "I've seen the single best room design in the history of HGTV Design Star." 

Yeeeeeah, riight. Can't wait to see that room.

So, I still can't decide if I can actually handle full-on recaps each week. Are you ppl gonna watch?
