This House Is The Reason I Think Most Interior Designers Suck
Ok, so as you all know, I love bad reality TV. And the bad reality TV I probably love the most is the Real Housewives franchise on Bravo. I watch every season, know every housewife...I'm in it to win it, ppl.
The addition of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills this year has been nothing short of epic...and I pretty much love every goddmamned second of it. But these photos of Demi Moore lookalike housewife Kyle Richards house kinda make me want to take my own life.
B/c she has a beautiful house, and all the $$ in the world, and yet it's VERY clear to me that she hired a 2nd rate interior designer, with no sense of space, drama, intrigue or warmth. I mean, look at this bullshit:
Hello cookie cutter cutter, blah room with uninteresting furniture and a completely predictable layout...nice to meet you.
Oh, I'm sorry: did you doze off their for a minute? Me too. The odd placement of those pillows and complete lack of anything that seems to actually "belong" to this family is giving me hives. Can someone get Emily Henderson in here STAT??
This little seating area is gonna give me a seizure: FOUR of those white chairs? There should only be two white chairs plus a sofa. Or two white chairs plus two other types of chairs. Or two white chairs and a tufted bench. But 4 white chairs, plus two potted plants, plus two matching light fixtures equidistant from each other on the wall is just barftastical.
Blah, blah, blah, blah boring.
Oh, gawd look away, LOOK AWAY!
Ok, so here's the thing: I'm sure this chick spent loads of money on all this furniture and hired some interior designer that was gonna make all her dreams come true. But nothing is layered...or textured...or ANYTHING. And most importantly nothing in any of these rooms actually makes it feel like a home. I know absolutely nothing about her or her family from these pics other than they're rich. She's in this gorgeous house, with all this gorgeous artwork and I'm left here after looking at all these pics with interior design blue balls.
Maybe she just had the whole place staged for the sale of her house and this isn't really what it always looked like? (a girl can dream).
What do you guys think?
