[WHERE I BLAHG]: Brooklyn Limestone

Each week (ish) we'll pull back the curtain, and give you an insider's look into the lives of some of your favorite bloggers with 'Here's where I blahg.' This week: @MrsLimestone from Brooklyn Limestone

So, duh, I live in Brooklyn...and love Brooklyn. And long before Design Blahg was even a glimmer in my eyeball, I was a huge Brooklyn Limestone fan. First of all: everyone says "brownstone" around here, so the fact that Stefanie went "limestone" had me at go. Second of all, its been loads of fun to watch the progress as she's transformed her home room by room, sharing all of her experiences and tips along the way. And THIRD OF ALL, Stefanie is, like moi, obsessed with travel and always does an amazing job of making me want to empty my bank account in order to copy whatever fantabulous trip she's just returned from (like Kenya! If you don't want to go after looking at these pics, then you are soooo weird. Like SO).

Name/Blog:

Stefanie from Brooklyn Limestone.

What are we looking at here?

My hot blue (why is it that hot pink is an accepted phrase but we don't use "hot" in front of other colors to describe them?) office.  Forgive me but the photo was taken a while back because I can never seem to get around to taking something more recent when its not too bright in here...but it pretty much looks the same now as it did when I snapped this shot.

What is it about this spot that works for rocking out blog posts?:

In reality, I kind of write a posts in my head before I type them out here.  So maybe I should be showing you the various spaces I think about stuff (the bathroom, my seat on the subway, etc.)--but my office just seemed more appropriate.  That said, it’s a great space for me to work on the blog for a few reasons: One, its entirely mine so I can make a mess or turn up my music or type in my bathrobe, whatever; Two, I decorated it so it would feel a bit different from the rest of the house.  I think I went with something a bit more fun and colorful, with the hopes it would result in me feeling a bit more inspired;  And three, it gets great southern light which always elevates my mood.

Fave blog? (besides ours...OR yours. Nice try):

This is a really impossible question.  I read so many blogs, and I bet I would have a different answer depending upon the day of the week.  Twist my arm?  Ok, completely random from the top of my head:

  • Three Men and a Little Lady:  I just love Michele's sense of style.  I tend to much prefer old homes with lots of character, but she has taken a newer home and made it not only incredibly visually interesting but also practical. Love that.
  • My Favorite and My BestHer Design Star recaps are hilarious and spot on.
  •  Le Blahg:  One of the few non-home blogs I read. I was totally sucked in by her monkey on a chandelier logo, and then quickly got hooked from there.
  • Little House Blog: I somehow stumbled upon her Monopoly inspired art, and have been stuck ever since.

I could go on and on and on here but if you really want to know my faves, just take a look at my 'must read' list on the right hand sidebar of Brooklyn Limestone.

 Fave online resource?:

I like to touch things (wow, that sounds dirty!) so I'm not one to buy too many things online.  If I do shop online, its for the deals - Overstock, JCP, Target, etc.

Cupcakes or brownies?

Cupcakes.  Something from a box mix from the supermarket please.

Last thing you bought for your home?

Errr, um, hmmm. I picked up some really old wood with peely paint windows at a yard sale that I'm convinced I will eventually do something awesome with. What is that awesome concept?  I have no idea whatsoever.  If you happen to know any, let me know.

Well, that's all folks, but there's way more where that came from over on Brooklyn Limestone. If you wanna be super jel, you can see more of Stefanie's beautiful travel pics on Flickr, and, of course, you can (AND SHOULD) follow her on Twitter immeds.
