[WHO GIVES A SHIT]: Do You Know How To Cook?

My oven has been on twice in the three years we've lived in our apt...and one out of the two times was because our dog sitter turned it on while we were away.

But I'm totally fascinated by how many design bloggers out there seem to be cooking their faces off...and posting beautiful pictures of food...and trying out new recipes. Why is this?

Now don't get me wrong, if I BUY some kickass food somewhere else, I can turn that shit out with a gorgeous table, flowers, the whole shebang. I just can't make any of that crap on my own.

Is cooking really that much of a complementary skill set with design/interiors? If so, I guess I'm just weird. Which isn't exactly breaking news, but still...

And sidenote: just to cement the "I'm weird" line of thought for all y'all, you should also know that I'm obsessed with WATCHING cooking shows. Yep, I tape Barefoot Contessa, Nigella, David Rocco...pretty much all of em. I like to think that I'm gearing up for one day, way in the future, actually attempting to cook.

Ok, so what's with the design blogger/food/cooking thing??
