Pretty-N-Design-y iPhone & iPad Apps

Sometimes I'm blown away by how shitty apps for the iPad or the iPhone end up looking. I think Apple is known for paying a LOT of attention to design and aesthetics, and anyone who designs an iPad or iPhone app that doesn't do the same really bugs me. Howevs, there are a lot of apps out there that actually *do* pay attention to design and UI and so, if you're like me and you care about that crap, you'll probs dig all of these mofos:

1. "C" is For Cow: This is a great app for the kiddos to help them learn their letters phonetically by associating each one with a different animal. And obvs when your kid busts out with "N is for Narwhal" they'll be considered little geniuses.

2. Cartolina: this iPhone app allows you to send beautiful little greeting "cards" to your friends and family directly from your phone for birthdays, anniversaries, etc. You can even schedule cards to go out on special dates, so you can look like you're totally organized and on top of it, even though you mostly don't remember anyone's birthday and are actually kind of an asshole.

3. Phoster: This app allows you to create very slick, cool looking posters and flyers even if you have no flippin clue how to design this shit normally. There are several templates to choose from, as well as filters you can use. This app is great if you throw special events or parties, or just like to pretend that you have way more friends than you actually do.

4. Instagram: If you like to take photos on your iPhone, this app will rule your face pretty hard. It allows you to share photos socially by "following" people (similar to Twitter), and with each photo you post, you can auto send a copy to Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Tumblr, Foursquare, all or none (you choose each time you share a photo). Best of all there are a bunch of killer photo filters that basically make any pic you take look gorge...even if you are a shitty photographer. Def my fave new app of last year. And if you buy it and wanna follow my ass, I'm ericagr.

5. Teux Deux: Not sure why, but I've just never quite vibed with a todo app before I discovered Teux Deux (pronounced "to do"). I've tried Things, Remember the Milk and pretty much everything in between. But I like the view of your entire week (when you login to Teux Deux online) and the fact that the iphone app syncs up with your online account is totally clutch for me.
