What to Wear Where?

That headline was so good, I actually just stole it word for word from Honestly WTF.

But I was actually thinking about this a lot recently, as we just had our amazing trip to Sedona, AZ last week. And before we left, I found myself shopping for some travel wear and picking out shit that I might not normally wear at home in NYC. I mean, I came home with a bag full of shearling vests, and earth-tone colored sweaters, and navajo prints, and this stupid headband head warmer thing. And when I walked in and showed my husband all this crap he was like: "uhm, are we going to stay at a dude ranch?"

Sedona, Here I Come

How amazingly drop dead gorge is this photo!?

10 years ago I drove cross country with a couple of friends, and out of all the places we went, there was none that stuck with me more than Sedona, AZ. It was honestly like nothing I had ever seen...I almost felt like I was on another planet.

And keep in mind, I don't really give a shit about all that nature-y stuff, but there was something about the red rocks there that just left me feeling hypnotized.

[AYFKMWTS] Mountain-Top Estates

So remember how I'm kind of obsessed with getting a weekend "country house" up in the Catskills?

Right, so this obsession manifests itself probably once a week or so, and when it does, it generally results in one to 9 hours (oopsie...I couldn't sleep that night) of online real estate research. During my latest real estate porn bender, somewhere between drooling over a cute little cottage in Phoenecia within walking distance of Sweet Sue's and a cabin in Woodstock that was only 45k but had no bathroom, I came across this place.

[MAKE EM] Souvenir Travel Boxes

I'm immeds stealing this idea from November's Country Living mag. Well, at least the next time I take a trip.

I mean, how adorbs are these little boxes?

The basic idea is that you cut out a map in the shape of the place you visited, print out a pretty label, and then slap it all on cute little box. You can then use the box to keep all the shit you collected on your trip and don't know what to do with cause you think scrapbooking is totally ghey.

Who Gives A Shit: Your Geographical Soulmate?

At the beach in AmalfiA recent convo with @cailinash on Twitter got me thinking about travel again, and I was reminded of this idea of a "geographical soulmate."

I've been using this phrase for awhile, and I'm intrigued by the idea that we all have one. So, just like many people believe that we have "soulmates" in our lives (friends, lovers, husbands, wives), I think we all might actually also have geographical soulmates.

For me, it's Italy (Florence, specifically, but you can pretty much drop my ass off ANYWHERE in Italy and I'll be a happy camper).
