[WHERE I BLAHG]: STFU Parents

Each week we'll pull back the curtain, and give you an insider's look into the lives of some of your favorite bloggers with 'Here's where they blahg.' This week: B from STFU Parents.

Much like the fire department and the police, STFU Parents provides the world with a crucial, and oft overlooked public service: policing Facebook and the internet-at-large for totally fucking annoying and ridiculous parents. Her site is hilarious and addictive, and, unsurprisingly, there's some crazy ass shit on there. She's got "mommyjacking" stories, poop photos that will, potentially, burn your retinas, and my personal faves: "mom's gold star. Mostly I like to visit first thing in the morn after waking up from a late night of partying, pop open my diet coke, and give thanks to the universe that my uterus is still as cold, dark and empty as it always was.

Name/Blog:

B from STFU Parents.

What are we looking at here?

These were taken in the living room. The couch is where I spend all of my time blogging during the day, and the mantle and Barcelona chair knock-off (above) are what I stare at. Well, that and the TV of course. I'm particularly proud of the Barcelona chair because it's the best knock-off I've seen and I found on Craiglist for $100. I also love my '50s coffee table which is like 80 inches long.

All of the art on the mantle was made by friends, and we love our Banksy print above the couch. The story behind that print is, Banksy hired my boyfriend's former company to paint 4 huge murals around SoHo, including this one with a man standing on 4 dead horses and holding a sign that reads "Luxury Loft Complex Coming Soon." The day before the image was to be painted, the economy collapsed. So Banksy scrapped it and changed it to this. We thought it would be cool to have a print of the image that wasn't used (though I think it's since been in a gallery show).

What is it about this spot that works for rocking out blog posts?

I wished for so long that I could freelance and work from home, so being able to do that now is awesome. Before, I worked in marketing and had no idea what the weather was like for the entire day. In the winter I would come in just after the sun came out and by the time I left it was dark again. I don't understand how people work in cubes. Now I can chill on the couch, hang out with my two cats, keep the TV on and stare out the window when I'm looking for inspiration. I love it.

Fave blog? (besides ours...OR yours. Nice try):

That's a hard one because I'm addicted to Twitter, which means I hop from site to site with frequency. I don't think I can pick just one! I do read Gothamist a lot because they post like 50x a day. (How do they do that?!)

 Fave online resource?:

I love Design*sponge Sneak Peeks because they feature a lot of vintage-laden homes which is totally my style. I also love Craigslist, and I go on Gilt every single day because I'm obsessed with buying designer clothes/whatever else at a discount (without physically leaving my home).

Cupcakes or brownies?

Cupcakes all the way. Any flavor, but I'm partial to carrot cake and red velvet cake.

Last thing you bought for your home?

A blue glass vintage seltzer bottle from a neighbor at a block party. I have a growing collection. Meaning I have three.

If you can't get enough of B, get your asss over to STFU Parents--I dare you to not spend 11 hours there. Also, you can follow B's ass on Twitter
