[COOL SHIT] Collages

"Hello Minerva" by Lulu de Kwiatkowski, Limited Edition of 12I've always had a thing for collages. I think maybe its because I'm a wannabe artist, and collages were pretty much the only thing I could ever make that didn't look totally fucking retarded. At least I don't think they did. For all I know, my bunkmates from sleep away camp are still sitting around at some cool reunion I purposely didn't get invited to saying shit like: "do you remember that chick Erica? Her collages were SOOOOO BAD."

Anyway.

Clic Gallery in NYC is selling some supa fly limited edition collages right now from Lulu de Kwiatkowski (of Lulu DK fabrics) and legendary pro surfer turned artiste Tony Caramanico.

[COOL SHIT] Thomas Paul Plates from Orange and Pear

Ahoy, mateys!

There's nothing I like more than nautical-themed stuff. It makes me feel even more WASP-y than I already am (I mean, I'm wearing pearl earrings and boat shoes as we speak).  Often, I have fantasies of leaving New York City forever and living on a sail boat like in Charlie St. Cloud.  Actually, wait—I don't even think he lived on a boat in that movie.  How should I know?  I only watched the trailer.

Vague movie references aside, these plates come in a variety of different styles, and because they're melamine, they're awesome for outdoors, kids, or for your stupid goddamned roommate who breaks everything you own.

Not that I know anything about that last one...

[HANGIN' TOUGH] 20X200

So, it's come to your attention that you're too old for movie posters (even if they're framed!), but you don't have the cash to drop on a legit piece of art?

No problemo.

The folks over at 20X200 are serving up their fair share of that shit every week.

The story is that they release limited edition prints from artists at various price points ranging from $20 to $2000. They claim that it's "art for everyone," and I have to agree.

Let's check out a sampling of their selection...

[WHO GIVES A SHIT?] Design Bloggers-n-Photos

So, I'm curious: how do you all deal with photos on your blog? Cause this is like the one thing about being a design blogger that I haaaaaaaate.

I'm a writer...so its easy as pie for me to write shit all the live long day. But for some reason dealing with the whole photo thing on my blog makes me want to stomp on a kitten's head.

Where do you find photos? How do you search? Do you go to all the same places? Do you resize your photos? (and if so, what do you use?). Do you always include a certain # of photos in posts? Do you scan stuff from mags?
