In Praise of Blankets

So, I didn't even realize this shit until I read this Remodelista post, but I'm officially over duvets. And this is all because I like blankets....A LOT.

I think duvets look messy and floppy. Also my dog gets em REALLY dirty. I mean, I guess if I had a full-time housekeeper who could launder and iron that shit like whoa it would be ok. Cause it's not that I *dislike* duvets...but I just think blankets look neater. And also less fussy, I guess. We happen to have an upholstered bed, so yeah: they also look really nice tucked in.

In case you are not yet convinced, here are some more blankets to win you over:

image: Living Etc.I mostly like to tuck my blankets, but I also dig this one that clearly would look fab untucked. Also, I am SO feeling those colorful, mismatched stripes.

image: Metropolitan HomeI'm kind of obsessed with this bed (doesn't Rachel Zoe have this mofo?). But yeah: obvies a duvet would look retarded with this.

image: Elle DecorThis bedroom isn't quite my taste, but it's still pretty friggin fab. And I actually love the blue of that blanket.

*I stole this photo from MFAMB's post on fur.

Despite my undying love for animals, I love the shit out of fur blankets. I can't help myself. If I could afford a mink or fox blanket I would probably buy one. Or maybe not. I'm not sue if I could control myself, but when I'm actually that rich, I'll let you know how it all shakes out. Also, I LOVE THE SHIT OUT OF THIS ENTIRE BEDROOM.

This is classic dude design (from the Ace Hotel in Portland)...and I seriously dig it.

Fuck yeah, blankets!
