Anthropologie Bedding: Unicorns-n-Puppy Dogs

Ok, in terms of clothes and jewelry, I love me some Anthro just as much as the next girl. But can someone explain to me why the hell ALL of their bedding looks like it's made out of cream puffs, cotton candy and maxi-pads? 

It's just so goddamned ruffle-y and girly, it all kinda makes me want to barf. I mean, can you imagine a dude anywhere being ok with this in the bedroom? I mean don't get me wrong: they have pretty stuff. I just wish it wasn't allllllll dripping so hard with sugar and spice and everything nice. 

If only they'd come out with a dude's line...I'd be all over that like Adam Levine on a supermodel.

Sheets-n-Blankets-n-Shit

I'm not sure what the hell is wrong with me, but I mostly hate like 9.9 out of 10 linen/bedding designs.

Now, solid colors are fine, obvies--it's mostly the pattern stuff. I'm not sure why this happens, but it happens to me like e-v-e-r-y single time I walk through the bedding dept of any major department store, Bed, Bath and Beyond, TJ Maxx or whatevs. I pretty much just wanna barf everywhere.

[COOL OR NOT COOL] Canopy Beds?

I came across this post on Coco + Kelley about Canopy beds.

True confessions: when I was like 8, I had one of those silly, little girl white canopy beds, with the over-exxagerated white canopy and the frilly lace, and yes: I did love the shit of it. I kind of get it for little girls, and for some reason it makes sense in my brain more than it does for adults. The adult versions of canopy beds always end up seeming a bit overdone to me...like the person is trying just a leetle too hard or something.

But in thinking about it, it occurred to me that as much as I see pics of canopy beds in mags and on blogs now, I've NEVER actually *seen* one in a real life apt or house. Maybe I'm just rolling with a lame-o, non-canopy crowd (which is very possible), but do these things actually exist??

And if so, where?

In Praise of Blankets

So, I didn't even realize this shit until I read this Remodelista post, but I'm officially over duvets. And this is all because I like blankets....A LOT.

I think duvets look messy and floppy. Also my dog gets em REALLY dirty. I mean, I guess if I had a full-time housekeeper who could launder and iron that shit like whoa it would be ok. Cause it's not that I *dislike* duvets...but I just think blankets look neater. And also less fussy, I guess. We happen to have an upholstered bed, so yeah: they also look really nice tucked in.
