'Fur Pillows Are Actually Hard To Sleep On'

image via Curbed NationalWhile I've certainly been loving the shit out of Curbed National since its debut, I think this roundup of Kanye West's craziest interior design/decor tweets should be nom'd for a friggin Pulitzer.

If you're not following Kanye on Twitter, well then I'm not sure what the hell's wrong with you...cause this shit is B-A-N-A-N-A-S. Here are a few of the best gems that they uncovered:

+ At the crib, I use really nice napkins instead of paper towels...got the idea from the YSL bathroom...waaaay nicer.

+ If baroque and mode had a car crash, what would that ambulance look like?

[COOL OR NOT COOL] Canopy Beds?

I came across this post on Coco + Kelley about Canopy beds.

True confessions: when I was like 8, I had one of those silly, little girl white canopy beds, with the over-exxagerated white canopy and the frilly lace, and yes: I did love the shit of it. I kind of get it for little girls, and for some reason it makes sense in my brain more than it does for adults. The adult versions of canopy beds always end up seeming a bit overdone to me...like the person is trying just a leetle too hard or something.

But in thinking about it, it occurred to me that as much as I see pics of canopy beds in mags and on blogs now, I've NEVER actually *seen* one in a real life apt or house. Maybe I'm just rolling with a lame-o, non-canopy crowd (which is very possible), but do these things actually exist??

And if so, where?

This House Is The Reason I Think Most Interior Designers Suck

Ok, so as you all know, I love bad reality TV. And the bad reality TV I probably love the most is the Real Housewives franchise on Bravo. I watch every season, know every housewife...I'm in it to win it, ppl.

The addition of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills this year has been nothing short of epic...and I pretty much love every goddmamned second of it. But these photos of Demi Moore lookalike housewife Kyle Richards house kinda make me want to take my own life.

B/c she has a beautiful house, and all the $$ in the world, and yet it's VERY clear to me that she hired a 2nd rate interior designer, with no sense of space, drama, intrigue or warmth. I mean, look at this bullshit:

Is Anyone Surprised That Dan Faires Has A Totally Adorable Apartment?

Nicole Bengivino for the NY TimesI mean, I'm certainly not. I am, however, slightly surprised that this great little NY Times feature about Dan and his new wife Dasha didn't mention his stint on the last season of HGTV's Design Star (wonder if that was on purpose? Maybe he's trying to separate himself from that whole scene?).

Anyway.

Dan and Dasha live in a 375 square foot apartment with a little back yard. And while their style is totally different from mine, I still find their space to be warm, and homey and well, fine: totally adorable.

[I'M OBSESSED] Aphro Chic Pillows

So I write this other blog about the Park Slope neighborhood I live in in Brooklyn (with a bad word in the title...you've been warned); and also I write this little Design Blahg. And it's pretty friggin rare that those two worlds collide. But today they do--with Aphro Chic pillows!

Aphro Chic is a fabulous blog in its own right...but whoa! There is also a killer product line developed by Aphro Chic-er Jeanine Hays to go along with the snazzy blog, and just so you know: their new Brooklyn inspired pillows are srsly to die for.
