iPhoneography Is The Bomb Diggity

So, duh: everyone has clearly heard of photography, and everyone has clearly heard of an iPhone, but have you heard of iphoneography?

Cause this is like a real thing now: the art of taking photos on your iPhone. And I'm so stoked that I stumbled into it because it will fucking rule your face just as hard as it rules mine.

Over the past year or so I've gotten way more interested in photography...and its all due to my iPhone.

And newsflash: you can take AMAZING FUCKING PICTURES on your iPhone--espesh if your ass is lucky enough to have the new one (which I don't even have yet).

There are now actually a ton of killer resources, apps, and iphoneography flickr porn out there, so I've rounded up a few:

+ Life in Lo Fi is an entire site dedicated to iphoneography with all sorts of fab app reviews. They're even coming out with a mag!

+The Best Camera is a community of iphoneographers that use the "Best Camera" app developed by photographer Chase Jarvis. Check out their rotating group of pics on the front page to see what others are doing with their iPhones (you know...if you wanna feel bad about yourself).

+ An Iphoneographers Six Fave Apps: Mac World breaks it down, though my FAVORITO one is not included and that's fucking bullshit. Keep reading.

+ Camerabag: this is the mofo that got me started, and after several years of owning an Iphone, its the one app I keep going back to the most. Bottom line, it will make your Iphone photos look way better. There are a number of filters for you to use that create varying effects and best of all, you can apply them AFTER you've already taken a photo.

+Hipstamatic: everyone keeps jerking off to this app, and I'm not quite getting it yet. My main beef with Hipstamatic is that you can only take photos from within the app (rather than apply filters afterwards like Camera Bag let's you. This bugs the shit out of me. BUT, they do have some cool, super saturated, vintage-y options that look way cool.

+Sion Fullana is a killer iphoneographer in NYC. You can read an interview with him here.

+The iphoneography Flickr pool.

And here are a few more of MY iphone pics (that's mine up above as well). All have been post processed with Camerabag and are in my "My Daily Commute" set on Flickr here.
