BREAKING: looks like its time to dump all my references to Vintage Modern, cause I'm now officially a card carrying NEW TRADITIONALIST. Like, I'm ready to print that on a mug or a mousepad or some shit.

Last night I was lucky enough to get my ass invited to the Design TV party, thrown by a couple of my Twitter BFF's @JonathanLegate and @ABCDDesigns. [I'M OBSESSED] Painted Doors

I'm not really sure WTF is wrong with me, but there is just some design shit that I C-A-N'T get over. Like no matter what. I'm so serious.

Come back and talk to me in 20 years, and I bet you a million billion dollars I'll still be obsessed with painted doors. All of the doors in my apt/house/whatevs will be painted some glossy, dark color and you'll be like "uhm, aren't painted doors kind of 2008-2010??" And I'll be all "what the fuck is your point?? Annnnnd you need a facelift! BOOM"

[I'M OBSESSED] Phoenix

So, uhm, just so you guys know before it starts to hit all of the gossip mags today and before my ass shows up on Tyra, the lead singer of Phoenix: Thomas Mars is like totally way into me. And I mean, like WAY.

And yeah, we all know about all the really obvious shit you can do when you're way way into someone, like:

* send them flowers
* dedicate a song to them on a mainstream radio show
* get their face tattooed on your back

[I'M OBSESSED] Neon Wallpaper

First of all, when the hell did Apartment Therapy start using the word "rad?"

Second of all, did you know that I love wallpaper more than some members of my own family?? Cause yeah...I do.

Third of all, I want every last goddamned one of these delicious, neon-infused wallpapers. I want to hang them on my walls and then rub up against them with all my clothes off while blasting Tribe Called Quest.

I’ve been obsessed for a while with old-timey whaling (not whales. Whaling.) and I’ve tried to incorporate that into the design of my apartment with some art work and scrimshaw pieces, including an amazing painting of an impaled sperm whale shooting blood that hangs above my bed.
