Who Gives A Shit: Do Your Friends Have Good Taste?

Gawd, I hope none of my friends are reading this, but here goes anyway: I have exactly two friends with apartments that are beautifully designed, well-thought out, interesting, full of gorgeous things that induce jealous rages deep down in my soul: Nicole from Sketch42 Blog and The Brinsons from House of Brinson.

That's it.

Now this isn't to say that the rest of my friends have shitty aparments with shitty style (though some def do), but more that they don't really have *any* style at all. Aside from those two, there is honestly no one else whose space is at all interesting or provacative to me.

[HANGING TOUGH] Exploding Dog Prints

Exploding Dog is the brainchild of artist Sam Brown, where readers submit titles and he creates drawings based on them.  This is a project that's 10 years in the making, and what continually blows my mind about this site is how titles submitted by strangers connect together so seamlessly.  If you read them in succession, you'd think that they were written by one person.

They're quirky and odd as they are hopeful and quietly adorable.

[I'M OBSESSED] Prince William's Wedding

Maybe it was indicative of the times, maybe it was the unmonitored access to my mother's tabloid magazines, or maybe I was just a weird fucking little kid, but I was absolutely OBSESSED with the British Royal Family from the ages of 8-13.  Princess Diana died when I was 11 and OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDDD: I think I single-handedly kept The National Enquirer in business as I insisted that my mother buy every issue, brimming with Mohammed Al Fayed's murder conspiracy theories.

So when news of Prince William's engagement came up after about a 10-year lapse in juicy royal gossip (aside from Prince Harry's hi-larious Nazi costume), I was immediately sucked back in.

[Gift Guide] Old Trends We Still Love

Look: you can let assholes in the comment sections of design websites tell you what's hott and what's not to put in your home, or you can buy all the formerly trendy shit you like and not worry about what anyone thinks.

Better yet, you can gift all the stuff you wish you were brave enough to keep for yourself to other people!

Take The Etsy Taste Test

Etsy recently released a new feature that's pretty darn cool.

You start here at tastetest.etsy.com, and then look at a bunch of pics/items and pick out all your favorites. After you're done with the quiz, they put together a Taste Page for you and fill it with all sorts of shit that they *think* you'll like based on your taste test.

One of the coolest thing about it is that they give you a permanent URL so you can go back and check on it from time to time. Also, they include some links to other Etysy-ers who appear to have similar taste to yours, so you can look through their taste page as well.
