Take The Etsy Taste Test

Etsy recently released a new feature that's pretty darn cool.

You start here at tastetest.etsy.com, and then look at a bunch of pics/items and pick out all your favorites. After you're done with the quiz, they put together a Taste Page for you and fill it with all sorts of shit that they *think* you'll like based on your taste test.

One of the coolest thing about it is that they give you a permanent URL so you can go back and check on it from time to time. Also, they include some links to other Etysy-ers who appear to have similar taste to yours, so you can look through their taste page as well.

[WHO GIVES A SHIT?] Holiday Cards

Ok, so do you people still do this holiday card shit?

I'm a Jew, so I never *really* got into this scene to begin with. And, in truth, those cheesy family photo cards make me want to barf a little bit. And yet...and yet, there is a leetle bitty part of me that's still a little jelly of those cards and for like 11 seconds each year when I get one in the mail. And then like for one brief, shining moment I think to myself: awww, maybe we'll do one next year!

And then we never ever never ever do.

I mean, I don't know ANYONE'S phone number unless I look at my cell phone, so forget about addresses. Who has people's addresses any more??

Anyway.

The one place I've found where I kind of like these cards is on Minted.com. And also I guess this is mostly a ppl with kids kinda thing to do anyway.

[I'M OBSESSED] Etsy Emails

Ok, so while I love the shit out of Etsy, I don't really love the normal search process on the site. And its not really their fault! Cause they've gone out of their way to give us about a billion diff ways to search from keyword, to location, to color to everything in between. But I *still* find that shit hard and frustrating, particularly when you're not exactly sure what you're looking for and you can only type in a general search term.

So, that's why I subscribe to a few of Etsy's fab daily emails and I really love them SO HARD.I almost always come across something fab, and I even save them in an "etsy" folder in my gmail inbox, in case I want to go back and browse later on. Even if I'm not ready to buy something at that very moment, I try to always take the opp to "favorite" items and stores so that I can go back at some other time when I'm not poor.

And believe it or not, ppl: Etsy is not even payin my ass to say this. I just heart them.
